basic lipping, and the rear wheel wells have a little step in them that needs to be 'massaged' out with a hammer as well. I added alot of castor also, so had to trim the front lower corner of the front guards.

Great thanks. Any work on the guards to make them fit?

Digging this up from a year ago...

The stance looks good. What size wheels and tyres are you running?

I have a set of SSS round top Hitachis complete with factory air filter assembly, but it won't fit with these extractors. I also have a Lynx crossover single sidedraught manifold and a pair of 40mm Dellortos, but I wouldn't bother with a sidedraught unless I got a bigger cam as well, but a cam grind costs as much as the shift kit I want for the Soarer to make it faster at the hillclimb. Whereas the cam for the 120Y is just to make it cooler really, so that's not going to happen for a while - too many cars and not enough money to go round!

I would like to upgrade the Delica to another Patrol too, but I'd have to sell the Delica and another car to do that - so selling the Datsun is not totally out of the question... Particularly if it goes to someone from here where it will have a good home. Maybe I like building them more than living with them? lol But I do like it. I drove it to work again today, just because. It really turns heads :)

Looks great. So you're bored of it and want a faster one already. Sell sell

'Its too loud, I'll have to make it quieter'. I know how you feel, Harry, my Sunny Coupe is used as an alarm clock by the entire suburb, when I drive it to work. It also destroys the car as a tourer. But, when we were young & stupid, the noisier the better. I like Quiet & Quick, for the street, it's a lot less expensive in fines. I'm really starting to get motivated now.
Are you getting a SSS carby set up together for it? I've always had a thought on how you'd use a throttle quadrant for the cable, instead of the rods from the firewall. If you'd like. I'll try & figure it out, then give you a yell.

PS Time for an avatar change? maybe.

I did about 600km in the 120Y on the weekend. Went up the coast on Saturday morning to pick up an inlet manifold for it, then on Sunday I took it for a run down the Mt Lindesay Hwy. This is how it sits now after the L series conversion, withthe heavier 260Z front springs and extra leaf in the back:

It ran great. My only complaint is the exhaust is too loud. I'll have to change the muffler to something quieter. Goes much better in the hills than it did with the A14 , and much nicer to cruise along at 110km/h at 3300rpm rather than 4000rpm with the A series 4 spd!
