Harry, I found the number for a fellow called Craig who lives in Port Macquarie, but his brother lives in Brisbane where the car is. They bought an old Stanza they are fitting an SR20 to. Can't guarantee anything, as it's been more than 6 months since I bought the boxes. They might have an L16 but I seem to remember they had an L20B. It's best to try Craig during the day, if I can remember. Good luck with the search, but you might just have to settle for an L20B.
Pity I didn't win those 15 inch Simmons on Ebay, I could have got you to pick them up & maybe swap them for an L16 from down here. Still $300 for rims you have to spend another $200 each to make use of, Lucky I was outbid, really. & Is the darkside from how tall they are & the shadows they cast?

Hey Harry,
good to hear of another Lseries build!!
I still have some goodies about the place from the yellow coupe. A87 head with lots of work by Datrally and improved again by Cave Hill in Vic under Errols instruction. Datrats adjustable cam gear etc. Also have 2 close ratio 71B 5 speeds available. Extractors I built to suit the coupe including merge collecter and transition also here.
PM me if anything grabs your interest.
Cheers mate.

don't know if you got my PMs? I definitely want that cyl head and probably the extractors too thanks mate.

Hey Jeff, How much would you want for one of the 71B boxes.
Would go nicely behind an L20B with a 76 degree cam in a Sunny coupe. So, Emma Khisit? Paul.

picked up an engine... came with a lump of red stuff attached. The L16 idea is out since this Bluebird came up cheap. L20B with electronic ignition, and a set of 14x6 Delta turbo mags in good nick, which is handy because its the recommended size for those semis I bought. Might be able to use some other bits and pieces too

Good Score, Harry. Pity you sold the A14, you could have fitted it to the Poobird & sold it as an economy model. Are you going to use the gearbox from it? The 120Y has a neat oval hole in the top that hopefully the longer 71 box shifter lines up with, all you'd have to do is duplicate the oval cover section with the rubber offset backwards.Or is it an Auto. Are you in the market for a Z24 crank next?

Its 5spd manual, but I'll be using a 260Z box. Where the shifter pops up isn't much of a problem, but it would be nice if it does come through the factory hole. The tailshaft shortening is far more of a pita...
I'll be having a look at transplanting the 910 engine x-member and rack in too. Fingers crossed...
No thoughts of building a 2.4 grunter, but Z20 long rods and short pistons would be nice...

Kietch was telling me standard bluebird springs give the Y a decent offroad capability if on a budget, but since you're not racing it offroad just consider the struts and control arms anyway since that would plop you with 3+ degrees of negative camber, probly closer to 5-6 at a guess.

lowered the 120y yesterday afternoon with a combination of 1200 strut tops - which give 30mm lowering and Kings lowered springs which also give 30mm lowering. Car is now 60mm lower at the front and loooks much better. Doing the rear this afternoon...

You need to open up the centre hole in the strut tower from 80mm to 94 to fit the 1200 top in there. I marked it out and cut it carefully with a 1mm cutting disc in the angle grinder. Photo shows the material removed.
