Making conical reducers to use on dump pipe. Specialists steel parts are hard to find so these had to be made from extra light CHS.

Yep by all means SU or Stromberg just in case any clearance issues to bonnet with top mount manifold, fuel bowl at the bottom. Bore is supposedly 45mm with 48mm opening also available with 48mm bore and 52.25mm opening. Its a retro looking thing and avoids clearance issues with top mount turbo.

Great looking carb, what is the bore size? I'm going to stick with a variable Venturi type.
A similar carb to the one above is the Mikuni big bore off a jet ski, that was another option. You can view topic.
