bit of an update, new engine is in and going strong

it made just over 200hp at the wheels right on 8000rpm

have done a few laps at winton and it felt really strong, i did a new pb lap of 1m37.8
in the morning but was on the trailer by lunch time as the alternator gave up.
I dont think it liked the rpm, might look into underdriving it some...

no pics this time sorry, will get some next time i have it out for a run

David, unfortunately there is no rwd version of the sr20ve

so its a fwd sr20ve cylinder head on a rwd sr20de bottem end.
theres lots of fiddly things required to make it work..... u need custom manifolds, crank fire ignition and to relocate and
remote feed the VVL solenoids

but it is a lot of fun!

how'd you go at winton Ziggy?

Ended up pulling the pin - It was 45deg's up there that day
I only do it for fun and pushing an open car in that heat - AINT NO FUN

Looking to try again soon

HEy man, I’m looking into doing the same motor swap into my Datsun 1200, was it a lot of work ? Any heads up tips on the swap overall?

Hope you make it to the BBQ day on the 11th.

I am seriously considering copying much of your power plant and drive train for the yella terra

Is there a particular RWD version that you got or have you converted it to RWD? ... just one of many Q's

Great job

David

oooh yeah it'll be hot out there! I once went on a day that was forecast for 27deg in Melbourne. Hit 39 at Winton!

you going in the clubman? my best last time out was a 1m38.1

cant wait to get out there again, this motor will have a little more giddy up (if it doesnt fall apart hehe)
