If you're kind to it it MAY last. I broke two H145 with a stock 80hp A15 within a year -- driving it gently. The 65hp A15 may have less torque.

I've got a H145 in my coupe behind an A15 (until I get round to swapping it). It hasn't broken yet although I don't drive it much. If you're kind to it it should last.

That said, if you need a custom tail shaft you may as well get the H165 up front and get the tail shaft made for that.

Yota 1NZ-FE engine has 103 ft. lb. of torque. More than an A15 -- which will sooner or later break the H145. Especially if a steep 1st gear transmission is used. Some have reported the H145 lasting for a while behind an A15, but it is not rated for long-term durability. TS-Cup racers used H145 but had to be very gentle and they still broke sometimes. They also used diff coolers.

Remember, the higher the engine revs to make peak HP, the lower the torque will be. HP and FT-LB figures cross at 5250 RPM. For example, a 100hp@7000 RPM engine vs 100hp@6000 RPM -- the slower engine will have more torque. And torque is what breaks gearboxes and diffs.

Toyota 1NZFE only has 80kw - its only going to be about 80bhp at the wheels. And its not a torquey motor, with peak torque up at 4200rpm. H145 should handle that OK IMO. Plenty of worked A series make that power and similar torque and the stock diff holds up OK.

It will break if you just look at it.

Hi all, how are you?, i am doing a 1nzfe swap into a datsun 1200 coupe, going to keep it as light weight as possible, dont need much power, i will be posting pics soon... can the stock h145 diff handle the torque??
