Thanks DD. Hoping to get the kit soon.

Last weekend I decided to make a tachometer face out of some acrylic sheet that I bought from Home Depot for $5. I was skeptical that this would work but in the end it turned out great. I drew the tacho face on the computer on CAD and printed a 1:1 scale copy. Then I spray glued the piece of paper and stuck it to the acrylic sheet. The sheet comes with a protective coating on both sides so it was safe to glue it down. I used a drill and drilled the 3 mounting holes for the screws. Then I used a Dremel tool and a cutting wheel and slowly chopped away at the acrylic sheet. I would probably recommend a band saw or a router if anyone else is attempting this. Then I sanded the edges with 220 grit paper. Test fit. Peeled the protective coatings and then screwed the tacho face on. Very happy with the results.

If anyone would like a PDF file of the template just send me a PM and I will be happy to send it to you, just be sure to print it at 100% scale and on Letter size paper.

Also finished my LED wedge sockets. I lastly cleaned the back of the gauge cluster with rubbing alcohol to get rid of all the overspray and gunk that was making it dirty. It looks great now.

Nearly finished with my dash assembly.

Nice. Hope it Isn't too reflective on the sun. Looks great though.
.
Now how will you cope with kmh in the USA lol. Guess you won't get many speeding fines for 60kmh on free way.

I'm more worried about people crashing around me when they see me in the right hand seat and not the left hand seat and assume no one is driving.

That's why I always too my Aussie riding with me, so the left seat wasn't empty.

Man's best friend....Nice photo DD

Regarding the missing body mounts for the gearbox.....Can I use the Maddat one that is meant for a CA motor? Will it bolt onto my 60a Series 5 speed?

If so it would avoid me having to get one fabricated.

Do the four bolts on each end bolt through the floor in the cabin? I would think if so that it should come with top plates too.

Also why is there a V notched in it and will this interfere with the gearbox?

The V-notch is for an exhaust pipe.

You can use that crossmember, it uses the stock 71-series/60-series rubber mount. You will need to space it for the specific gearbox (60A is a different height than the dogleg 60). Alternatively you can also use a thick long flat plate -- no fabbing needed other than cutting some mounting holes. Possibly also get an A14/A15 Gearbox Crossmember from the wreckers and bolt it to the floor pan.

Thanks DD, always helpful!

I had thought about using some flat stock steel but I was worried I would have to bend it around the transmission and I don't really have the skills or tools to do that.

Do you also put plates on the top (inside the cabin on the floor)?

I few pages back you can see pictures of my current transmission mount and crossmember for my 60a series.
