Nearly every Japanese car has metric bolts and fittings. Mazda use imperial brake and clutch line fittings on some of their cars, like the B1800 ute I had. Massive mind f*** when I tried fitting a Datsun clutch master until I figured it out. Surely if it wasn't right you would have noticed as they would have been very difficult to tighten up.

The weird thing is they are not really that hard to tighten. Its not much difference between 3/8 imperial and M10

The rota wheels ended up being too wide in the back. Not sure i will end of using them. This body is way too nice to cut up for fender flares.

In other news, the A14 engine is gone.

This build will now be A12gx turbo EFI. Stay tuned. No pun intended

Nice looking engine, is it A12A (newer A12 is extremely rare in USA). and what's with that oil cap?

A12A is not the designation for the mid dizzy motors. A12A is an uncommon version of the mid dizzy A12's from the B310 which has bigger wrist pins and fatter conrods at the small end to suit the bigger pins, and the bores are also a touch larger which makes them something like 1237cc. Unless it has A12A stamped in the engine number area?

The oil cap just has a pair of magnetic squares/clamps sitting on it

Yes, you are correct. In USA we never got the "new" mid-distributor A12 -- ever. We did get the A12A in the base B310

A12 1171cc
A12A 1237cc (+2mm bigger bore)

In New Jersey, A12A is more common than A12
