Fooling around a bit more with my dash wiring harness.

I found a spare hazard light switch! Also found a spare heater cover that is black. Much cooler than the poo brown one I have installed.

Forgot to post this photo.
Battery in the trunk. Cable up to isolator block and cable down to starter. The rest are accessories to fuse box.

So the thing mounted to your strut tower is an "isolator"? Is it the same gauge wire to the isolator block from battery and down to the starter? Looks like in the photo you have thinner wire to the starter? What is the function of the isolator?

Also what did you do for earthing wires?

Thanks for the help in advance.

My dash pad was in decent condition but there was a few things annoying me. There was alot of overspray/primer from the previous owner that I tried to get off with solvent but no luck. Also there is a crack running through the middle which I was going to leave there. But today I decided to repair the dash pad and fill in the crack. I used a pliable epoxy type stuff that my Dad uses for plumbing repairs and filled it in with some putty sticks and sanded it smooth. Few coats of matte black spray. So far the first pass at the repair looks okay. I am going to fill it in some more and repeat.

Also more progress on the dash wiring. - Wiring diagram photo posted for reference for anyone using a RHD dash loom. Fuse block installed, fuses in, and wiring connected.

Also painted the ashtray to match the dash.

The isolator is a gathering point for your power. It is the same function as the positive side terminal on your battery except your battery is in the trunk. Same size wire from battery to isolater to starter. For a ground, I drilled a hole in the frame up front, welded a nut to the frame and from this point I bolted #2 gauge wire to the engine and starter. Most all grounds bolt to the frame.
