Ok, thanks dim. Once I can get this guy to give me a price on everything, that's probably what I'll do. (if funds allow) I'm really stoked to put in some work on this thing. I've been driving it around stock for about three months. Once again, thanks for all the info. It is mucho appreciated.

The crossmember swap would be a good idea if you want to use an A14 in your 1200.
And yeah, get the whole thing. Quote:

BTW, I have changed my avatar from a Volkswagen to a 1200. Now since my 1200 is not presentable at the moment, I used a picture of another car (Gil). This car DOES NOT BELONG TO ME. It belongs to Tim and I wouldn't want anyone thinking otherwise.

if what you're talking about is a B310, the crossmember won't bolt into a 1200, I used this crossmember for my A15 but had to modify it. You may find it easier to just make new engine mounts. Has anyone tried a B210 120Y crossmember, it would have to be pretty close, but I think I remember someone telling me it doesn bolt in. The B120 roadstar/bakkie crossmember IS a bolt in and allows the 5bearing motors to bolt straight in

5 bearing motors? A12s are five bearing motors. They got forged cranks too, not like those cheap new motors!
