Hey there. Can someone enlighten me as to the internal and external physical differences between the 80 and 67 hp A15's. Couldn't find it in tech wiki
Cheers D.

some have comp differences due to h75 open chamber head the other h89 close chamber, different pollution gear, exhaust & inlet manifolds and would think the 67hp one could also be another possible head the swirl round port.

The,67 would most likely be the forklift variant

Does it really matter which one you get it you plan to do a full rebuild?
I remember someone saying if you get the lower HP varient, to bin it and find a higher HP one.

If you're planning a full rebuild, i.e. bore it out, new cam, new valves, porting etc etc, it would kinda cancel out the initial comp differences?

67 HP was small-port cylinder head. Came in around 1982
Along with the changes D mentioned, the cam is smaller duration. Not a forklift engine. Came in last of the B310s and in the Vanette.

A 'full rebuild' will not change the HP design. Changing the cylinder head and camshaft is what is needed. And then rev it up while you drive it!

or have the ports opened up and cam change as DD mentioned
tuned with 32/36 weber, headers and good ignition

So from ouside they look the same ? Is there markings on the head which would tell you or do you need to have the manifold off to see if it has the small port head ?
Cheers D

Valve cover off -- reading the casting numbers
or
Manifold off -- measure the size of the ports (small oval, medium oval, large oval, or round port)
