hi all, I took off the carb took out the secondary main jet and primary jet and blew compressed air through out no sign of water in fuel I took hose off held a container in front of hose plenty of petrol came through after all that, its idles better and when I rev it up it back fires through carb

did you just clean the bowl? or the jets, emulation tubes and obviously the rest of the idle circuit? also if it happened after you filed up you would think there is probably more #OOPS# in the tank.

Have you checked that the fuel pump is adequately providing fuel to the carbie?

clean out carb sounds better but still back firing through carburettor. the manifold thermostat the shaft is very worn would that cause the back firing

hi there was leak but was fix, I don't know much about the carb if you take off the air filter and looking down the carb only one jet putting fuel in but the other one nothing is that normal???

rev it up with the filter cover off and put your hand over the carb inlet, it will want to stall then take your hand off letting the revs increase.do this a few times and if your lucky it will pull the #OOPS# out off your jets. you most likely got a tank full of water.

hi I got some carburettor spray cleaner and got it idleing just but back firing in carburettor and running rough any ideas

For idling problems that start with a tank of petrol, I would rinse out the fuel bowl.
