It is interesting and at least there are options but so far the earlier v1 spanish webers are not as good as the v2 but how to tell is unknown to me just talked about that the EMPI carbs are very good as they replace the shaft bearings with quality ones but thats all I know. Chinese do take shortcuts hence would prefer Italia Webers of Dellortos however Dells are harder to get parts for supposedly compared to Weber and Solex are even worse for parts but Solex Mikuni style Webers are reportedly the best and I wish I never got rid of my japanese 44s and 50s.

Stuart Wilkins has found the Spanish Webers are porous & leak fuel through the castings. Was talking carbs at the time & he advised me to use a Japanese weber copy he could supply. MCR's or something like that.

Thats what another forum mentioned, Spanish are only good at making Paella :)
The Jap weber copies could be the EMPI HPMX made by FAJ but version 2.

Of course for probably the same price of a set of new Webers you can fit a set of Toyota throttles, fit an ECU, have it tuned and maybe have a few bob left for a case of beer. You'll save fuel on the way to get the beer and won't have to retune when you get back.

Unless you race in a very specific formula that won't allow you to use ITB's and injection, for me there is absolutely no motivation to use carburetors anymore. None.

At least here in South Africa that's the case and carb tuners are now scarcer than hens teeth. Those that are still around are stupid expensive too.

Yep Ive come to agree with you all and especially the injection choices using even factory TBs from over 900cc bikes

There are a few bad comments about the quality of the weber knock offs on Downunder Datsuns, proceed with caution if you're going to buy.
