Is anyone still interested in these strut top ends. i havr sent my 3 pice drawing to a laser cutter and git quoted 350 aud for 20 strut tops, in three milimeter mild steel (local australian shop). they would need to be welded together and painted still. i could have a try at welding them. i have access to a gasless mig welder. sorry for the bad spelling. typing on my phone.

$35 a pair for 6 pieces of metal. then add on welding costs, cleaning/prep, prime, paint or powdercoating, and shipping/handling costs

So a rough estimate would be around $60 or $70 a set depending on final finish. Obviously powdercoating will have higher costs than just coating them with a spray can. I am not sure if people would prefer a final completed strut top end for $70 or a "DIY" kit with just 6 pieces of mild steel for $35 ??
Anyway here is the design that I have come up on my own in 3d. Do you think it is worth doing this again? I would need everyone to pitch in before I pull the trigger on laser cutting. I would also need someone to test fit a few prototypes. (can admin please move thread to Main Forum?)

Don't meant to harp on the design, but it doesn't look very strong in regards to the plates that the cross bar bolts to.
When I drafted up my brace ends, I got input from SW and added bracing to the uprights to relieve the stress on the welds. i.e. ![]() Even after this render I wasn't too happy with the design so I didn't end up getting it made.

I plan on welding continuously on each side of the vertical bracket. And it does not cantilever off of the base. By leaving a decent size gap between the supports multiple types of strut brace bars could be used including rod, flat steel, etc... Just trying to make it versatile
