"Thanks it all started when i was driving the light started flashing slowly then later now its staying on,i checked the fan belt and its tight"

I've had this happen three times as you have described.
Each time found the brushes worn down as DD shows.

only getting a click click
Very very common cause of this is a battery cable connection that is not spotless. See http://datsun1200.com/modules/mediawi ... title=Battery_Maintenance

Even a good battery with bad connections will appear dead. It will also start right up with jumper cables. Cleaning is the first thing to try when these symptoms occur.

If the alternator is charging (13.5 or higher volts) for at least 15 minutes and the cables are clean, and this still occurs then the battery is most likely worn out. Replace the battery.

I'm going to carry the alternator by another electician tomorrow to get it checked on again the guy before had no clue what he did an put me in a bad situation yesterday. So i'll get back the alternator and put it back on and get the charging rates an put it back up for you DD. Battery terminals are all good and ground straps are in good contact and clean.

The thing the Regulator does is regulate the Voltage to somewhere between 13.5 to 15.5 volts. So that's why it is most important to check the voltage. Nothing else really matters.
