#1 odd diff ratio?
GG-DATSUN Posted on: 2013/8/19 1:09
hi guys, i was searching around at home and pulled out a 4.27 h150 or maybe its a h145 diff centre out of the cupboard. anyhow, i didnt know these were orginal. its in a steel casting with the small square like the alloy 1000 h145's.

i was just wondering if they were scarce or rare.

4.27 is very rare. What are the two numbers stamped on the edge of the crown wheel?

47 on the crown wheel and 11 on the pinion, and it is stamped on the crown wheel.

Would love to have 4.27 an excellent ratio for quick acceleration even in a street car.

there she is DD. I think it was in a sunny wagon. not sure if its a h145 or h150, haven't had the chance to check.

So they are rare, i have never heard of one.

I know of 3.88889, 3.9, 4.11, 4.375 and 4.62(or maybe its 4.68?)in the h145/h150 range. Im so glad i had the clean out, i just figured it was a 3.9.

I haven't ever heard of that ratio.

I also haven't before seen the numbers presented with just the single decimal rather than the typical dot, dot :

Interesting. Possibly from a hitachi unit off something different altogether.

I didn't say it was a legitimate Datsun diff. I've never seen nor heard of a 4.27 and it's not in any Datsun documentation as far as I know. But that's a great ratio in my opinion.

Can you post photos of the differential assembly front and rear?

Or at least measure the crown wheel. 145mm for H145, 150mm for H150.

Some Toyota AE86 LSD fits into a H165 diff with modification, could the carrier be from an AE86 or something?
