Hey Slam or any other Canadians, when I was in Vancouver a few years back, I saw a few Nissan Micras running around. I thought one of those might be cool to try and grey market in to the states. What do you, or anyone else, know about them? How do they compare in size and performance to a 1200? What engine do they have? Aren't they FWD?
As a side note, woo hoo! I just hit 400 posts! Man, I need a life.

Well dimlight, actually im in england right now (long story) but micras are everywhere here.

they are the baby brother to the sunny.

i could get you one here for... hmm, nothing. In Canada im sure that they are as cheap to pick up. If i find one ill let you know.

I hate them, they are slow, FWD, there was a choice in engine for them.. similar to the sunny engine, a 1000cc, 1.1 and 1.2. I think thats as high as it went.
I doubt similar to a Dat 1200 in performance more of a girl car ... but with a new engine you could make some heads turn

I always remember years ago, driving with my dad in his turbo charged skoda.... people didnt like getting overtaken by one of those Open in new window

Flippin love the skodas!

Anyway, thanks for letting me remenise about back in the day

Peace

The micra actually had quite good performance, 0-100 clicks in about 11 secs for the 1.3 I seem to remember. But they're a very 'girly' car. I went to the british web site, enthusiasts on that site are pretty pathetic, mods K&N airfilter, mesh grille seems to be about the biggest modified one!

my old man had a newish like 95-96 or something 1.3ltr thing, it was cool, not super quick but handled well and very nippy, i liked it. super economical. but anyway on Gran Turismo Two? i think it was you could buy this earlier second hand boxy micra which was never sold here but it was a supercharged thing, not super high performance on Gran Turismo but probably heaps of fun in real life

I think I managed to get the one you're talking about up to 242 clicks on the test track on GT2

I'll have to pass on the Skoda. It's hard enought getting parts for a 30 year old car that was actually sold here! They do look like they could be real sleepers though.
If they can be had cheap, I might be interested. When you get to Canada, have a look around please.
I'm thinking a Sentra SE-R drivetrain in it might just spank an unsuspecting car or two.
Then again, maybe I'll start looking for an F-10 or something.

Did you check the wbsite though??

Some of those cars look well nice!

Yeah, It would be hard to find one, they do have yugos in N. America so maybe a skoda or 2?? dunno, maybe anyway...

I'll send it down if I find it

I haven't seen a website for them but I'd be willing to bet there is one. I saw two or three while on a bus tour of Vancouver on my way home from a cruise in Alaska. I didn't get a chance to look one over up close but they seemed to be pretty tiny. Me likee tiny cars.
