This is a bit off the topic of Datsuns but I'm hoping one of the knowledgeable ones might know where to get the tuning software for an AEB Gas Injection computer (the type that Sprint sell in Aus, fitted to loads of different cars).

I got one on my non-Datsun commuter that I'd rather tune myself than take to the mechanic forever. All I need are the right tools!

If it was working correctly at one time, changing the tuning via ECU is last thing to do. Instead give it a tune-up (check for vacuum leaks, point gap, timing, spark plugs, etc). There is normally no periodic adjustments needed for LPG. The MAP sensor is one of the most important pieces and it senses the vacuum.

If it has never been tuned then AEB Italy has instruction manuals for download.

It seems the regular LPG Injection does not need to be tuned via software as it is self adjusting. The Direct Injection kits may be a different story.

Thanks DD, there's nothing wrong with it, I'm thinking forward to when I might need to tune etc. The tinkerer in me just wants to have a look at the tune. I couldn't find the software on their website. Might have to look harder.

What problems are you facing with the lpg injection?

I have an emer sequential system on both my landcruisers and gettting the installer to tune it properly was a nightmare.

Getting tuning stuff for lpg injection is near impposible in australia, so i got mine from the uk and tuned it my self runs like a buety know

I use emer which is an italian company (most systems are) not sure of AEB tho

I got my stuff from http://www.tinleytech.co.uk/

You could email and see if they have the cable and sofware for your system

Thanks

It's running fine, just the pipe is extra black so I'm wondering whether that's because the fuel trim on the LPG side doesn't match the petrol trim perfectly. The ECU would have adjusted the maps to suit the lpg (if it can go far enough) but if the trim's too lean I'd imagine it'd run rich on petrol during start up. Mostly I'm just keen to have a look and arm myself with the tools for the future.

I'll check out the link, thanks.

I ended up buying one of the kits from Tinley Tech and used it tonight for the first time. Seems to do the job alright with minimum fuss. I changed the switch over temperature. If I get keen I might do some fine tuning of the MAP and other things, be nice if I could get some more mileage out of a tank of gas.
