Oooo that's motivation. Not surprised at the numbers Crumb, it goes good .
The motor's definitely coming out of the wagon and into the clubman this week. Then just get someone to sort out my Dellorto jetting without having to give up a kidney

Good time for having never run the car before and without any experience. Must give those Commodores a good run for their money

what diff ratio is in it now? i think you'll need quite a large change in gearing if you want to complete the 400m
in 3rd gear? (thats how im reading it) I also think you'll go slower! 3rd-4th gear change can happen pretty quick with practice..
oh and if you need to work out diff ratio's you can divide the number of teeth on the pinion into the number of teeth on the
crown wheel, that'll give you your ratio

good to see you getting it out there and having fun, looks like you'll be in the 13's soon with some track time
then the quest to run a 12 second pass with an n/a 4cyl will begin! good luck

sounds like your gearing is spot on (for 1/4 mile) if your at the very top of 4th over the line
good times, any street car that runs sub 15 is fun to drive

for comparison i did 13.7 @ 99mph in my old ute which had 150hp at the wheels
from memory my 60ft times were always around 1.8-1.9
i had 4.3 diff gears but around 8500rpm to play with
i wanted to give it another run with the 4.88 gears that i used to run on the track
just never got round to it
id like to drag my white sedan one day, should be good for a mid 13 id say

With all that torque a 3.9 ratio would net you a higher top speed at lower revs. Even better a lsd would be sweet for traction.

I think with better sorting the car might have a low 14 even a high 13 in it. Thats brown pants country.
