Rob has built an early A12 using the early
Mazda B1 and B3 engine with 71mm bores

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda_B_engine#B1

Robs 8v A12 was to be fitted to a 1000 someday

B1 & B3s see 8-9k rpm @ speedway / circle track

Yes, there is no step-by-step guide. However there are partial guides such as post 61 in this thread.

Quote:

The "a15 block mazda head" is referring to the Mazda 1300 DOHC head, which has valves too big for the A12. And if I understood correctly, requires the DOHC pistons (see post 61) which won't work in an A12.

However...

all the kits have been sold ... to some morris minor owners with a 14s in them. using single cam 8valve
So the SOHC head will fit on A14. And you can bore an A12 out to A14 bore size and fit the A14 pistons in the A12. So the SOHC might work on an A12.

DOHC vs SOHC

This is kind of a figure it out for yourself in a way.

I am going off pictures mostly. I haven't seen a list of what to look for or things to avoid.

Search out some of the Mini Cooper forums. Those have had some how to threads with great details about this build.

Hello, I am interested in this kit. Please email or PM me specifics, parts, price, method of payment, how to, etc... Thanks, this is probably going on a A15 1981 Nissan/Datsun 210.
Also, where to get headers and side drafts carbs for this kit that will fit on the 210?

I have shifted gears and I will be putting a GA16DE head on my (A) block instead of the Mazda head.

Anyone want to purchase my Mazda head :D

Has anyone got this setup running reliably yet with some dyno results or maybe a video of the performance?
