Matt good to hear you want to do your own version, just remember there is way more involved to make a front plate than meets the eye. You might be better off doing your own version based on the GA16DE Nissan head which Feral Erol had matched up to an A series sometime back.

A member went to 82mm sleeves A15 offseting 2 and 3 bores towards each other and this made the A series head a problem to use but no probs for the GA16de head it was intended for.

I would suggest you use the GA16DE head which are Nissan and use the Z5 pulleys which are tiny in diameter and would look very smart. The GA16DE head has the issue of chains but Im sure you can work out a plate so you can use pulleys instead much like the Mini head that uses the chain driven BMW head

That way the stock waterpump could be used like here on the Mini A series below

I was noticing that if I had the A12 block machined for over sized pistons with offset bores it would clean out the walls between the water jackets and cylinders on 2 and 3.

I can see why sleeves are needed. How did OP overcome this? Or did the Familia head he used have differing combustion centers?

Is there enough space along the larger pistons wrist pin to allow off center connection since the Crank to Connecting Rod has no room?

The kit would be nice to buy but being a machinist/designer and owning a CNC Mill... I kinda want to design my own front plate and cover. No disrespect to OP is intended.

I dont but buying the kit includes the head gasket to bore properly.

Im sleeving an early A12 block for 81.25mm bores 2mm left for future
boring/hoining but not worried cause sleeving costs 550aud for an early block.

With a slightly modded A14 crank Ill be happy with 1597cc

D,

Do you have a picture of the offset machining done on the A12? I have the Z-5 head and a B head from a 1.6 Miata. Both the heads alignment are not symmetrical to the Datsun bore centers.
