ok my Datsun day dilemma , i'm only going to comment on the 1200's that were there as i'm not as familiar with the 1600's and Z cars that were there . I won't put any pics with my comments as I don't want to identify any rego plate numbers just in case this gets messy , ok this may be because im insanely jealous that my project is not finished yet and because of that I cant incorporate some of the mods I had planed on under the current RTA rules , but old conversion or not I was told that you had to comply to some unbendable rules when going through the pink slip process . three cars there today stood out as being total no no's, a 1200 coupe with a 13b turbo , 12inch + rear tyres and 4inch fronts , full 6 point weld in cage , a 1200 ute with a sr20 turbo , and similar 12inch rear tyres and 4inch fronts , and a 1200 ute with same sr20 turbo that the owner admitted to me that was not engineered .as with all the other modded cars not a engineer mod plate was seen on any of them. While I can appreciate the time , money and sacrifice that goes into any build what happens if they run over someone on the way home and technically have no rego or insurance(all had rego plates on them , they were not track only cars) May be i'm out of order here but please give me some feed back on how I can process this

Wards im with you to a degree. If they were done safely and intending to engineer then I have a bit of empathy as I had similar issues whilst mine waa undergoing engineering.
But there was a sr20de coupe on here you may remember who says was engineered so legal but the owner was a tool that drove like a male chicken and had tge mememe selfies all over fb. Each is as bad as eachother. Disregard and contempt of law but more importantly human lives and safety. No regard for people's worth.

if one Datsun performance modified car kills someone the hole community will be #OOPS#ed in the ass period. No more modifying cars and if you don't believe me look at the new laws coming in.

Hey Wards, we dont have modplates in NSW unlike the Bananabenders in QLD.
You need to look at the rego sticker for 'registration conditions' and the RTA simply states which engineers certificate documents the mods. Putting the number plate in the rta iphone app will tell you who certified it. There are at least a couple of legally certified 1200 utes with sr20det in NSW. The 13b coupe is less likely to be legal. Some people live on the edge in regards to legal mods. That's their choice and they are normally not affiliated with a car club. It was a good range of cars yesterday.

The 13b Coupe is listed as a grey 1200 sedan. But it has an engineers certificate for at least some of the mods.
