I've got pics of alfa's guards and bonnets. They are designed (imo) for 2 litre sports sedans and more about aero (to whatever extent they work) and extending far enough to cover race tyres. They look the goods, to say the least, and aren't really that expensive all things considered. I reckon they might run into trouble with ground clearance on a streeter, and the front air dam more or less 'has' to go together with their guards, or nothing will fit or appear right (in other words, you really have to buy all three of em) so that might affect some people purchasing them.
With respect to weight saving - I honestly reckon you'd have more effect on things by skipping breakfast and lunch on race day, no bull.
With regard to the aftermarket guards, they do seem flimsy, maybe the trick is not to try and roll them to flare them, but to remove em, heat the lip and slowly tap them out with the right hammer (I don't know what they are called!) and sand bags underneath. You may even end up lighter with those aftermarket guards than fibreglass, but it'd be a close call (the aftermarket ebay steel ones are very thin).
