Cheers Ange thanks for the positive comments :)
A few days ago I decided to see how the new turbo would fit for clearance.
once i start fabricating new pipe work i dont want issues with the strut tower.
The new turbo is a lot bigger and will help with the topend.
cheers anthony

Top cyl looks like it may be leaking out to the gallery to the left of it

yeah both valves on 1 and 2 covered with oil the guides are shot and the index of the spark plugs so im wondering if this has caused pre ignition and higher temps in both pot's ?
But it is the inlets that are affected strange.....any thoughts
noticed that too wasn't using water so was getting ready to pop to water gallery, tension on the head bolts was pretty weak aswell

Just a thought with the tension on ur head bolts, when ever I do a head I recheck the tension after a few hours of running and I find that they usually take a bit extra but that will also depend on what sort of head gasket is used as well. And I have seen oil create a hotter cylinder temp but it was running straight gas but they run a bit hotter...

The round port head is where it should be ,new head bolts, now onto manifolds and carb which has been machined to except holley's screw in style air bleeds.

Nice sink hole! just wondering if the guides where shot then that could have been the issues with the inlets getting combustion somewhat?

Just a note if the heater hose gets in the way you can tuck it away by cutting the outlet pipe an inch and a halve from then reverse it so the heater outlet faces the block so your hose can just run along the block and straight into the firewall. Did this to the 1000 engine and looks way better less clutter etc.

quick and easy mod at breather pipe just secured with black tie clip.

That's a great idea I will keep that in mind
Sink hole....I think i can make it bigger ;)
I will strip the head down and check the guides out of curiosity but Im keen to see how the round port goes
