I got around some of the listed interference problems because my motor is pushed back 35mm from standard location. I would like to claim I mounted the motor this way for weight distribution but the truth is the driveshaft I picked up to fit the H190 was a tad bit short and moving the motor and tranny back took care of it.

Interesting about the heat wrap Darren. No problems since using it?
Tom - Now the motor is in and run-in, I am considering re-doing the engine and g/box mounts to sit it lower and further back like you have mentioned. The car is currently driven daily until another project is on the road, but it's primary use will be for Hillclimbs so I would be doing this for better weight distribution. Is it possible for you to post pics of your mounts? Paul

Two things. Currently I just use two flat plates in conjunction with the standard motor mounts.
Many use ago my fabricator buddy scalloped out the center of the crossmember so that the motor could be lowered 2 inched by solid mounting it. For the tranny he made up spacers so the tranny would also be lowered as well. The issue I was having is I put the car up on two wheels twice at local Autocross in the course of about 3 months, the second time the inside wheels must have been 3 or 4 feet off the ground as folks in the timing trailer said they could see the entire underside of the car. After I went to the 280ZX strut set up (used different crossmember) the set up wasn't needed. Tom

Darren stop racing around so hard in your new A15 and you won't burn up those bushings. Just kidding. I have heard from more than one person this problem. Especially when front suspension is lowered.
