The chokes have more influence over the mixture velocity flowing into the chamber. Your idle jet will have the most influence over your mixture at light throttle and progression to main jet fed full throttle. Book in some time on the dyno or install one of those AEM A/F ratio gauges and see whats happening.

Dellorto no longer sells 30 chokes for DHLA 45.
The 40s let you tune them for a mild A12 or a wild A12.

I would go 40 regardless of single or double, my single 45 on my a12 that's got 10 thou flat tops lightened flywheel h89 head with oversize ports and valves extractors inch an 3/4 exhaust and a mild wade cam still runs stupidly rich and chews juice like no tomorrow, in saying that it runs fairly smooth, is always a bit seedy until warm as they all are.
From memory I have 28 or 30 chokes I believ. Cannot remember for the life of me why mains and secondary's...

Twin 35's choked to 30 or 32 would be fantastic on a plain or moderate A12.
But yes, more info would get some more accurate responses.

Is your A12 stock standard or modified (gx head? Race camshaft? Etc...) I have seen a single 45 used frequently on A12 race motors.

Twins are always slightly better.
For a stock A12, tune it with 28mm venturis. 45s won't accept venturis that small. Use either a single 40 or twin 40s. For a 7000 rpm A12, use 32 mm venturis. They are available for 40s or 45s.

G'day,
I was wondering if anyone is or have ran a 45 dellorto with the A12? Is it better to run twin 40 or single 45? Any info would be much appreciated. Cheers You can view topic.
