Pretty sure in most states you need to have at least the demister working. I believe some people have hooked up 12v hairdryers or blower motors to achieve this, but might as well get the heater going I reckon.

Thanks aye! I've gotten new heater hoses and I've started fitting them in, just the only problem I'm having is the nut on the back of the head is such a pain to get too and it's pretty damn tight so it's not moving at all haha. I'm gonna let it sit with a generous amount of WD-40 and see if I can do anything about it later. I've taken the original fenders off and replaced them with new ones that came with the ute. completely sanded and all I found was some surface rust so I fixed that up and coated it with some primer. next up gotta order a new bonnet,brakes,mirrors and a new tailgate. I'm open to offers with the parts that I need as well if anyone has some laying about haha.

Don't need a heater in Cairns! Every time I've been in winter, the locals are wearing thongs and t-shirts! :)

Hahaha nice I've seen people saying things about using them but all I want at the moment is rwc and rego. getting a some new parts by the end of the week so I'll post some pictures then

Alright back again,big thanks to TomTom here on the forums for the parts I bought off of him. Top bloke. Ok back to it, I'm in the middle of installing my new heater hoses and the bolt on the back of my cylinder head just wont come undone, definately not turning it the wrong way and after letting my father have a go at it he stripped the head.
so now I need something to get the bolt out. I was thinking I could tac weld a large nut to it to allow a larger spanner to fit and give me better leverage. also whilst I was taking my front 1/4 panels off a couple of the heads from the screws snapped off... one also being the bottom one along the bottom of the sill panel.. tried using a screw extractor and no luck. so I need a hand with this. the only other way I can think of getting around it is cutting it out and then replacing it with a new one. also chassis rail rust was another fun thing I found. previous owner said the car had no rust at all.. but hey a 30 y/o car you have to expect that. ONTO THE GOOD STUFF!! the following parts are from tomtom, again thanks mate! ![]() spare diff ![]() new bonnet ![]() I grabbed a few other pieces from him as well haha. pulled one of the brake cylinders out of the diff and put it in mine. ![]() also pulled the carpet out as it was torn up quite a bit and found this mess ![]() gotta hate it, but I love it. anyone willing to come around and give me a hand send me a message and we'll sort something out

No good on the rust. Can you grip the broken screws and twist them out

Alright so an update on what's been happening with the ute. Been sitting in the garage collecting dust for the past year. Lost my Job and have been on the search since. Other family related issues. Only small amounts of work have been done (small surface rust and tidying up).
The last time I had the engine going was about 10 months ago and everything was fine. I haven't touched it since. Had an old mate of mine come around on sunday because I need to pull my finger out and get it done. He said I should try to start her up every now and then just to pump the oil through and lubricate it abit. Tried starting it today and yesterday with no luck. it seems like I'm not getting any fuel to the carb. I can't see any in the little window. any idea's what could be the problem? You can view topic.
