how do i fix a glazed block im just interested?
do i need to rebore or is it just polised down?

You would need to replace the rings and all that entails. A re-ring job rarely needs a rebore unless the cylinders are damaged.

The correct way to do it is to measure the bores (usually top and bottom and at 90 degrees, so 4 measurements). If the bores are within spec you can use a de-glazing hone on a hand drill to put the cross hatch pattern back into the bore. (there's more to it than that but that's a good start)

Once the bores are prepared, new rings and often new bearings plus all the gaskets required to put it all back together. If it needs a re-bore then add new pistons as well.
