Throttle body swap

I want to get rid of the throttle body and go with a carburetor. It will eliminate the computer which is the weak link on this engine. I'm on my 4 th computer and at 500 each it adds up. I'm pretty mechanical but would like a little help on which carburetor to change to. It's engine hasn't been sold in the US since 2002. Nobody works on them here except a few forklift places and they don't want to fool with it. Will this work or what suggestions do you have thanks

It entirely depends on which cylinder head is installed. A15 came with three basic types which use totally different manifolds.

Can you post photos of the engine? Or at least casting numbers of the manifold.

If the engine is like the carpet cleaner I saw some years ago, it should work. That one had Zenith EFI, which used a adapter plate on the stock manifold. If the adapter is removed, the Weber kit should bolt right on.

I foresee two challenges
1. The Weber needs to be tuned to the engine, though it should run pretty good out of the box
2. A governor needs to be fitted to the carburetor

This particular setup has antifreeze running through the throttle body. why do we want to heat fuel .?

Yes, a Weber kit should fit that manifold.

The goal is to vaporize the fuel, no matter what the outside temps. With the water-heated throttle body it will run good at freezing temps and at summer temps both.

Does weber make a governor for their carbeurator. My understanding is they are unreliable and problematic. Any truth to that.

Webers are good carbs, if you buy from an authorized dealer.

To my knowledge they don't make governors for stationary engines. If your mechanically inclined, your existing one could be adapted.

What on it now is controlled by the computer and is a 3 position motor. It's sealed inside and can't be accessed without grinding off the rivets. I doubt it would work with a carburetor. I know one guy who runs it without the governor . He just runs it a little faster so that when under a load its were he wants it. I would prefer to try a governor first.

I'd suggest having some jets. Webber is good at supplying them promptly. I use a wideband oxygen meter for jetting changes and I don't see how I got along without one. Costs about $160 and provides much entertainment.
