various a12 engine parts

i have a late model a12 head came of an 82 ute. engine was running before dismantled.

How'd the carb run? The valves look dark, maybe too rich?

No idea. I bought the ute. It got driven onto a trailer and then the engine came out. So no idea of the condition or how it ran. What you see is what you get.
