Hmm... a brand new FS5W60B 5-speed is only $1700. Even with shipping it should be less than the Dellow price.

True, but once you have the kit, if you break a box, it's an cheaper swap, than to have to buy another 1700 gearbox

IMO, most of the kit items listed are priced over and above what you reasonably would pay. The cast bell-housing would be the only thing you actually need from Dellow, the rest you can sort out yourself from other suppliers /ebay for substantially less.

It would be cheaper and better in the long run to cut and shut a stumpy 71 series box with an auto bellhousing from an A series. A good welding fabrication place or person can do it and most of the work is setting it up with a jig and welding. If someone was able to make a jig and share it many of us would be more than happy to fork out 800-1000 for a 5 speed setup that is easier to source parts for not to mention a whole box. There is one member with such a jig and would be great if he could rent it out.
