Hey TORTIS!

Yep i'm after some twin carbs to fit a 1200, ii'm currently running twin SUs on my roadstar ute but they are getting a bit tired, suck ing air etc.. really want something a bit more efficient...

Being new, I'll assume you think most of the folks on here are from OZ/NZ, but there are plenty of people here from the US and other places. After saying that, if you could clean up your spelling a little it would help alot. You seem to use alot of NZ slang and cr3ative sp3lling. Thanks.

Not trying to be picky, but it does make it hard for us to read what you write.

na im not worried bout a cert coz the A15 and A12 look exactly the same so thats all good and brakes was jus a thought....yea but ur 1200 looks real mint...well it did last i saw it in town...nice straight panels...but i had heaps of rust and tried 2 do some homer jobs...didnt turn out 2 good...but thats wot i get wen i did it myself...wot colour u gonna do?...i jus gotta get me sum bumpers sussed out soon

as far as the brakes im not sure wot the size is and all i was just wondering and all...but thats no major... so for the engine mounts i was told that i can move the mounts, or to do the steel plate trick that u mentiond...but that i cant remember if it has 2 move back or fwd....like a few cm or so...but thats pretty much wot ur saying so im jus gonna go wit the plate bolt on trick and hope i get the stab @ it 1st time right

yea i will prob get the diff in some time so i can get a bit more top end out but i'll c...

yea i live in hillpark...na thats my mates 1...the orange 1...im round @ his place quite a bit but yea still the steady process of gettin it on the road again...

like 4 wot parts are u lookin 4?

i was just saying that a ute crossmember will work but a coupe one wont.
and that to get a cert for the A15 you dont need to change the brakes.
that sucks how no one will paint your car im having the same problem, oh well im sure some one out there will. when you find the place that will post it so i can go there to get my coupe painted. what color are you going for next? i rekoin it stands out mint with the blue colour you got on it now.

sorry but the c20 breaks are all wrong.Wrong size wrong suspension wrong mounts.I tried it and nothing matched so I took them to the tip. The diff on the other hand is usable, If the van was a 1500 then the ratio is 4.4 or 4.1 ( not shure ) the center is bigger than a ute diff and heavier but looks very strong although the axles are the same as ute size only longer, same as 180B wagon , stanza etc. The length is a bit of a problem for a road car as its about 100mm longer and the spring perches are ferther apart ( not problem if you have a welder though )I made a gearbox crossmember by welding the existing rubber mount to a piece of flat bar about 400mm long and a hole at each end and just bolt up through the floor with a big washer on the top side, works good

you can just make up a couple of steel plates. use some thick steel plates which you bolt onto the engine mounts (1200 x-member) then line up the a-15 and see where you need to drill the holes in the plates for the studs on the engine brackets to go through, the studs on the engine will be about 3 or 4 cm or between 1-2inch back from the original 1200 mounting position, this method is legal!

the c20 diff will go in but im not 100% sure on details, the diff is wider though and will either require guard flares or fwd offset rims to be used on the back

as far as the discs, ive never heard of them being used, any idea what diameter they are? single piston caliper i pressume?

yo wassup mate...howzit goin?

yea the paint i got is -mazda, astral blue- no rong if u gonna do the same, coz im gonna be changing it wen i got the greens 2 pay 4 it all...im jus gonna get the performance first then get the paint, i have 2 find a good place that will paint the whole car 4 me...been a few places and they wont do it coz the 1200 is too old...oh well im still lookin then

but yea i had 2 make up a g.box mount the 5 speed but wots that nex 1 u were on about?

i was lookin @ the brakes coz i jus wanted them coz they are vented which would be a bit better but thats not a major @ the mo...i have been told by sum1 else that a ute Xmember will fit and make way for the engine 2 sit right on the mounts...or move the mounts either back or forward a bit on the A15 to make them fit on the 1200 Xmember...so ill see how it goes
