Local car clubs are your best bet and talk to some people
98% of people will help u out and point u in the right direction.
Don't forget: no one at club level gives a #OOPS# how fast or slow u are. As long as you're having fun.

remember better to spend money competing than spend money on the latest bling for your car in the first few years.
as for the car make it safe and make it reliable and learn how to drive fast and safe and have fun.
then make the car quicker by starting with Brakes and handling then add power later.

A supersprint is an event where you do a set number of laps at a time with a set number of cars running at a time, but it's not a race, the laps are timed & the cars are separated into pairs evenly spaced around the track. This gives you experience being on the track with other cars, with passing & being passed safely, but the is no need be too aggressive.
They are the main event you do at club level events, with first past the post events being at state level & above. Class postions are established by your fastest lap time, but the people in your class might not even be on the track at the same time as you, because the entries are grouped into categories based on your lap time. As a first timer, you'll be put into the slowest cars, or if you've raced somewhere else they should put you into one of the other groups. As you get quicker, you'll move into the quicker groups, sometimes during the day. If you're quicker than everyone else in your group, it's safer to move you up to the next group, & you can also ask to be moved up as well.

I think thats what I want to do to start out. Plans for my 1000 are to put springs in the front and setup camber ect, I have a 60 series 4 speed, stock diff and ratio for now but I was going to look into putting in a 1200 ute diff also I want to use an E series motor of some sort if im allowed and depending on cc class depends on weather I use a e10, e13 or e15. Not sure if the e10 uses 5 main bearings or not

My 2 cents worth.

Join the Nissan Datsun car club of SA = $50 / year
It is a CAMS affiliated club and is full of Datto People

This will allow you to get a CAMS LS2 licence = $115 / year

Joint the Marques sports car association of SA = $20 / year

Put all this together and you can enter Circuit sprints at Mallala
and Hillclimbs at Collingrove.

There is a MSCA circuit sprint on the 24/08/14 (this sunday)
It's free to watch and you can have a chat with people and see what it is all about.

Cheers,

Geoff

"I dont really know anybody though"

The best way to get in the know,
is to come out on sunday, find a Datsun
you like the look of and introduce your self
to the owner / driver.

Every one is always happy to chat. . . . . . .
specially about there Datsun.

Cheers

Geoff
