Sounds like a smart man in regards to 5 alternators to one Reco! After all the cars aren't at the wreckers because the alternators don't work!

i thought i said, anyway

i mounted the alternator myself, basically you get thinner bolts than the existing ones so they slide through the thread. on the front you mount it straight to the inside of the mounting bracket with a bolt through the two and nut on the other end and this will put the pulley in line with the pulleys on the motor and then the back one is not far enough back for the back mount so you get a long bolt and i used a wheel nut and a couple of washers to fill the gap inbetween putting a bolt through the lot and a nut on the other end again, the adjusting top bracket will suffice if you get the right size fan belt too ( idont know size just measure it once its mounted)

make sense or not?

i got my alternator from a wrecker for $24, ad no probs, stuff getting a reco you can get 5 old ones for the price and thell surely last longer than one reco

actually i was doing an all you can carry once and got two spares, basically for nothing cause thats not what i was after, morale of story if you need one for free ive got one, just pop by and grab it

Yes! Yes! I do!
I don't know what your job is but it is better than pizza hut.
Celaning grafitti, cutting old peoples toe nails, selling my body, anything is better than pizza hut!
Everyone there is like 10 years younger than me!

Umm... yeah that is all for now...

Firstly do you wanna swap jobs? I like thinking about pizza!
Yeah regarding how it is mounted: from memory it is very similar, but not sure as belive it or not I haven't worked on an EA for quite a while now! Don't know why but maybe the local council has band them from the road! lol! Plus I am trying to get out of cars! They make working on mine a tedious task! But should be straight forward to make a braket anyway ( that is if you have the tools ( welder etc.) ? ) But I will leave this one to 1200rallycar as he can look at his own car and give the right answer!
Regarding price: An auto electrician should be able to supply a reco one on exchange basis for round $130-$150 12months warranty. But being your exchange will be a 1200 alternator they may charge a bit more. ( each place is different! ) You could buy it new but the price difference is not worth it! as reco is like brand new anyway! ( new is round $250-$400 still only 12months warranty )
Plus if an electrician does reco one for you, while it is apart you can take the housings and paint them to match your car or engine!
(It's not compulsory though! To each his own I say!)
Anyway Check Ya!,

Wow.
Not thinking about pizza?
I just went back to working at pizza hut because I can't find any proper office jobs, so I am always thikning about pizza... It sucks.
Anyway...

Umm yeah do you know how the alternator is mounted onto the engine? I don't supose it would fit in the same mount? be good if it would though...

Thanks for that last repsonse. I'll have to reread it a few mroe times to understand though because I am dumb.

Wahts the bet that an EA falcon alternator is worth more than an EA falcon?
