#3 Re: Alternator Capacitor/Condensor?

I'm sure I've got one I can spare in the shed. The actual value probably isn't critical. An ignition condenser (capacitor)off the dizzy would likely do the job to.

If I remember right it's for noise suppression and probably the bigger the better (with diminishing returns). I think the brushes on the rotor cause the electrical noise. One of the elec engs I work with would probably know. (Beside the point I guess.)

#1 Alternator Capacitor/Condensor?
crumb Posted on: 2014/9/17 11:12
I am having trouble finding an alternator capacitor/condensor, i knocked mine off awhile back and now need to replace it as i am having issues with my tacho. It is a Bosch EE 14v3 alternator, i found lists of parts but none that cant tell me what the capacitor is. Even if someone could tell me what the size of the capacitor should be and i will just buy a standard one the right size and install it.

Thanks.
