Datopower,
At present, I am outstation and shall be back home soon.
I have the experience to fit a 4AG turbo into a Datsun B110 (year1967). Prior to fit it, though it is just a 4AGE engine, it is quite powerful, so the frame where the engine rests, front suspension and other tag welding should be strengthen first to absorb the stress delivered from this 4AG engine!
1) The front 2 set of suspension, arms, absorbers and disc brake can be easily fit with a S14 Nissan siliva or toyota AE86 with minor changes at the stabliser bar, absorber mounting frame and ball joints and steering adjustable rod.
2) Good skill and patience is required to install a C20 Nissan whole set of pneumatic brake pump and frame into the driver side (for Asian-left hand driver car) just over the steering rod. Precision installation is required to get the required angle for the brake to operate well. This purpose of fitting an inside passenger brake pump is not to obstruct the engine to fit in the engine bay.
3) Next, replace your whole rear axil with a AE86 complete set c/w 4.3 or 4.1 LSD gear box. This rear axil should come with disc brake! Try to look for an bigger drive shaft model in preparation for upgrading.
4) The entry for the mid gear box on the B110 should be enlarged a lot more to accommodate the size of the 4AG gear box. This is easy for you to install the engine together with the gearbox in one go and to replace any clutch linning.
5) Adaptor mounting seat for the 4AG to rest on the B110 base is home made.
6) When the engine is installed, now come to the drive shaft installation. Try to use a bigger drive shaft. Lastly is the electrical wiring. The old wiring is removed and the car is to be wholely rewired. For 4AGE engine, you can use back its standard ECU. However I use an aftermarket Microtech ECU.
Hint, for the purpose of upgrading to turbo, please replace the 4AGE mid gear box with a 3T gear box (precision matching, cutting and good AL welding are required) If you did not center or match the #T mounting to the 1st first 4AGE mounting. You will have a pain in the neck to feel our gear box is crying or rattling!
Sir, It is a great fun to drive a 4AG turbo in a Datsun B110. It is very light and have very good pick-up. So your suspensions work must be very good. Otherwise, the car will move like a snake. I am very luck that my mechanic and I have built the above suspension very good. The car runs very steady from start to 35 psig high boost!.
I try to shoot some good photos and e-mail to you on what I have done on 4AG engine conversion to my Datsun B110 car besides from my photos shown in the website:
