the later model cortina diffs would also be a good swap. as they had fat borg warners standard.

hey, i was just thinking a starion diff would be very nice, i actually measured the size of the rear discs on my brothers starion one day to see if i could use them but i never considered the whole diff!, theve all got lsd's too , im pretty sure my measurements suggested 13 inch rims would fit over the brakes too (good for rally) and they are also the same stud pattern as dat's

anyone done it b4?

I think it all depends on how you set it up.if you want to set it up for racing then you will want to set the engine as far back as you can so you will have to create personalized mounts and beat the entrance to the tranz tunnel and create new gearbox mounts. this will give you more room at the frount of the engine bay to install a larger radiator and electric fans. even if you dont want to go this extreme u will still have to create new mounts so its almost worth going the whole hog. as for the diff and axles biff them theyll just keep braking, it happened to my mate. use a L200 mitzi diff or starion or something else strong with the required ratios. ive even hurd of people shorting ae86 rear ends to fit. lsd and disks on the rear sound nice aparently the wiring for the 4agze isnt to hard to set up in the 1200. the price depends on how keen you get. but i imagen it will not be cheep.

I think that Bob (aka Niscoupe) has done this conversion in one of his coupes and said that it was a lot easier than some of the more conventional swaps like CA and SR. Hopefully he will confirm this for you and give you some details on how to do it.

As for those articles I was going to post...Im having trouble putting them up. See the other thread Uploading Pics for more details.

what do you need to know? everything I guess. I know a guy who races a 1200 with a 4agze without the supercharger, steel crank and rods, so if you need pointers I might be able to help.
