Thanks DD, I had a read of that thread and it has some good info. That was where I got the idea for AE86 control arm. I'm hoping that the adjustable arms will assist in getting the setup right? I've got some work to do this weekend!

Yes, should help fine-tune wheel placement.

Most important to get the setup right is to get a "wheel alignment" after you are done assembling the parts. At least set the toe-in correctly.

Yes, wheel alignment will be important. My brother in law owns a mechanics workshop which happens to have a wheel aligner :)
I will have to do some measuring and tuning for the first trip to the workshop though, but only about 5km away.

mm, i had a 3 core but i couldnt fit it with thermos and my cooler the way i set it up.
Using Kev rowley's cross member. Reverted to a stock ca18 radiator and spal thermos.
Works a treat. I live in Port Douglas and i dont have any overheating issues.

Ok, so I had some quality time alone with the Datsun today...
Fit up the S13 Coilovers with S13 adjustable control arms and R31 adjustable castor rod. It fits up so easily, no mucking around except for having to slightly enlarge a few holes with a drill (if you want it permanently which I didn't for now)
Really happy with the setup on install, looks really nice even in second hand scabby paint and gives me more adjustment than I will ever require.
I have one problem which I knew was a concern from the start and that is track. The control arms I had did not adjust in any further and I had the camber set to max neg on the strut tops and still could not squeeze the Convo Pros under. I am considering changing rims as I really like the strut arrangement but since the beginning of my build I have wanted the Convo Pros even before I bought my Datto. So option 1 is keep the S13 setup and change rims or go back to original plans with 120Y struts and S13 brakes.
Anyway, here's some pics of the S13 setup and the 1200 strut on the other side. The Convos will fit with the 1200 strut and adjustable camber tops.
What do you guys think? I have a full blown first world problem on my hands here...

Hey mate what backspace are u running on the front convo's im getting the maddat complete adjustable front end with a 2 5/16" backspace and it works just wright.

Couldn't help but notice the concrete pacers. You're a braver man them me. I wouldn't be getting under there and shaking stuff around

Haha yeah, it was originally being lifted onto a rotisserie so I had it propped up high to get it on to the brackets. I ended up getting rid of the rotisserie and the car just stayed where it is. It holds up ok, but yeah it's not the greatest as soon as its welded it'll be coming back down. I never like working under stands under any circumstance, normally I set rims etc under the car as well.

I have an s13 setup in my ute. I'm using S12 LCAs but had to section about 25mm out of each one to get the track back within the requirements. I section the area between the ball joint and the castor rod mount. The engineer I'm using for the design code (Ls3) is happy with this.
