It has been a long time since posting in this but I finally have the ute on the road. Had the maiden "Legal" cruise last weekend around the coast after we had some unusually nice winter weather.
Still have some finishing touches to do but that can be done slowly over time, for now I will be just clocking up some Km's enjoying the drive!!
Next stage will be tidy up the body, paint and then rebuild the engine... all money$$!

Thanks to all you guys on here that have given me advice, helped with parts, kept me motivated and just were around to chat to!

That's great news. Don't stay around the coast to long, otherwise it'll start rusting as Datsuns do.

Hey, now your getting some road miles up you can let us in on how well she handles with the S13 front end.

Enjoy 😎

WOW nice work man. I know from experience how much effort and work is needed to get a ute build drive-able. Respect. Looks hot!!

It looks great! Congratulations and enjoy! It's good to work on our project cars, but we definitely should take some time to enjoy them and enjoy our work!

Hey CADET1200, the front end works well, unfortunately it has been so long since driving on the standard suspension it is hard to compare, but I am happy with the end result. Next time we catch up at a Datsun day or something, I'll let you take it for a blast, I'd be interested to get others opinions on it.
The back end is the let down at the moment, so will be sorting that soon.

Unfam, It is nice to be legit and legal on the road. I don't have to worry about being pulled over or insurance coverage etc, it's great. It's good to be able to just jump in when I want and go for a cruise, or even drive to work on a nice day.

Cheers ODA70, it was a lot of work plus juggling family, work and managing a reasonable build budget is also part of the challenge. I learned a lot during the process. I think it was a bigger project than I had anticipated but have really enjoyed it. I said a few times throughout the build that I would never do another big conversion like this again, but now that I am on the other side, I'm sure this will not be my last!

How did you go with the bump steer test and are you running a front runner or full sized front tyre
