I was thinking about cutting the LCA from the treaded body section as it would be a simple mod, but the ball joint angle may be a problem. Your method is better to keep the ball joint angle reasonable. I also have a few sets of standard S13 LCAs which I can fool around with if I can engineer it.

Been a while since my last post, have been progressing with a few things, underneath painted, diff built with LSD and 4.11 gears, all new bushes and shocks. S13 front end pretty much sorted but will be on a seperate post with some detail of how I went about it. Waiting on inner tie rod ends which I should have Monday and it'll be back on the floor!
Car will be going out to a fabrication workshop next week to finally get the trans tunnel finished. will get the motor onto the engine stand whilst the car is out of the garage and get a few things sorted on that. Slowly but surely it's moving along!

First update in a while, progress is slow but progress none the less.
Engine bay painted so that I could fit suspension and steering, decided black because it was easy and still looks ok.

13 front in and steering all done! Got some new coilovers with base height and dampening adjustment.
If anyone is doing the S13 conversion, it says in the tech wiki to use s13 outer tie rod ends and machine the tie rod to suit, an easier way is to use an S14 outer tie rod end as it is the same diameter and thread pitch as the 1200 so no machining required :). I had to make up some bushes to accept the smaller diameter (10mm) 1200 cross member bolts on the s13 adjustable arms and also the s13 cross member mount is narrower, that was the only fabrication required for the entire conversion.

Wheels on and car is coming off the stands today to finally go out to the fabricators for welding of the trans tunnel and also some radiator mounts and support. Feels nice to actually reach the next stage.

So you went with the red S13 adjustable LCA's that were pictured earlier in your thread. Did you end up modifying (shortening) them ? How are you going for track width as wheels still appear to be hanging out a bit.
It looks like you end up with heaps of room inboard (between strut and rim) compared with the 120y strut setup. Very interested to follow your build and hear what the ride quality is like with this setup. Keep up the good work.

Good work man ! I'm in the process of painting my r31 diff and getting it rebuilt in a couple of wks ! Question ..... How does the ute sit with the diff ? What sought of clearance do you have between the guard and wheels ?
