Nice! How do you preserve the finish? Spray it with clearcoat?

Santa also came this week with my 15x7.5" Convos (only took 4 months). These with 5" BS and 205/50r15 Mickey Thompson Street Radials fit perfectly. There is little room to spare so hope it is OK under hard acceleration? Hard cornering scrub not such a concern for this car with 145's on the front corners are going to be granny pace anyway. I ended up with about 10-15mm clearance from the guard and leaf spring with the 7.5" rims with +19 offset (5"BS).

DD - For now I am just using polish. I have some bright and shine wadding that will be handy but otherwise it will be the old fashioned way! Not a big stress as it is a weekend / tinkering car so will be constantly fiddling, cleaning, pulling apart, putting back together etc. anyway. All the bits I have polished are aluminium so they should keep OK for a while.

Sorry, lots of updates at once but time is my enemy.
Having the inlet manifold apart I have been toying with the idea of match porting the runners to the fuel rail / butterfly plate. The inner section which houses the fuel injectors matches quite well to the gasket diameter, the manifold runners on the other hand are 2-3mm under size almost around the entire circumference. Now common sense says that opening these will be better for flow with less restriction / obstruction etc, etc. However, is this really a worthwhile exercise for a mild engine? Has anyone on here actually had any measurable results doing this or used a flow bench to compare factory with a match ported manifold? Realistically there will be many other factors limiting power before this in my build, but I feel that it should be a "whilst I'm there" job.

I am not touching the head yet, so is it worth spending several hours doing this or just leave it? Any feedback / opinions? Would love to hear of other experiences.

Also for now I am leaving the butterflies in.

Just got an email from Sanjay at Autoteam. He is no longer a VASS member and is following another career. Looks like I'm going to be finding a different Auto Engineer for this project! Anyone got any suggestions?

Yeah, good thing you used an Autoteam, so the loss of one employee shouldn't slow them down!

Wow that's a big concern for me as Sanjay was the engineer I was using to!
