Looks like it's all coming together. So we'll need to wear sunglasses when we look under the bonnet hey!

When do you reckon it'll be on the road......would be great to see it at Zigmondos Mordy BBQ day early next year.

Yeah it sure will be bling bling! would love to have it on the road by Zigmondos but maybe a little ambitious I think? I struggle to get time to get onto some of the bigger jobs but they will get done. Might wander out now and have a play actually...

So.... Was getting the finishing touches done on the motor, polished the last piece which was the passenger side valve cover. everything was looking good to have the motor ready to drop in next week, but I should know better that nothing is ever that simple.
When I was polishing the last cover today I noticed a mould line on the edge of the cover. I didn't think much of it as I assumed that the line was supposed to be there, turns out it isn't. Before I even got much more than finger tight on the bolts I could hear the metal creaking. The assumed mould line turned out to be a dirty big crack the entire length of the cover. I wish I found that before spending hours stripping and polishing! Oh well, I'm now on the hunt for another cover to do it all again. If anyone has one lying around please let me know.

A bit more polishing last night. I have another valve cover on it's way thanks to DatsAndy. The inlet manifold is a bigger job than I probably thought but I will persevere. Some of the more fiddly sections are a nightmare to get the rough casting out but I have to keep positive and look forward to the end result. I started like this...

Cool, try a flapper disk to sand it flat first

Thanks Supafatto, didn't even think of that I have some lying around that'll do the trick. I used a palm sander to do the large sections and then hand finished with 120grit. Had some imperfections that I wasn't happy with from removing the raised section under the ECCS badge that took some time sorting out.
