yeah ya can prety much put a mixer anywhere in the inlet tract and yeah the metering is done by the converter and most have ajustment on them useing a screw like a carb the multy point thing is very posable if u need one or more mixers like the the pic of the v8 range rover with twin carbs theres a hose from the converter to a y junction with a screw ajuster and it forks off to the gas rings in the inlet of each carb only problem with the range rover setup is the hose from the mixer to the carbs is too long this makes the engine very slugish off idle but very smooth so short hose is the go for performance u can also use 2 converters if u are useing big arse engines like big blocks... for info on more up to date lpg and vonverting fuel injected cars to lpg check out http://www.gasresearch.com.au/ i will get the pics of the turbo lpg conversions when i get to my mates place..... glad yall like me new avatar maybe i should just take a pic of the beer with out the wheel lol

The LPG turbo project is not looking good after all. I just got off the phone with a guy who does conversions. Apparently the EPA requires all conversions to be done with a certified "kit." Of course being the only person in the country who wants to convert a Datsun 1200 to propane, makes it rather unlikely that there is a "kit" out there. Oh, sure, I could do it and pay $10,000 to get it certified, but at that point I could have bought ten fuel injection computers.
I'm so mad I can't see straight!

I find it hard to believe the EPA would regulate LPG on old vehicles when they don't regulate gasoline cars over 25 years of age. Their charter is emissions control, not safety, so I would be surprised if this was so.
What the installer you spoke with might have meant is "I can't install it for you ...". Can you install a system yourself?

I don't about you guys in the states, but in australia, victoria at least, the only part of the conversion you aren't supposed to do yourself is the plumbing of the gas line. You can fit the tank, converter, and everything else. It dosen't have to be a kit ethier. I hope this helps.

yeah i recon its a bit dodgy and yes the only real part ya not spose to do is the service line but i know ppl that do it and get away with it but u MUST use seamless copper and here it dont have to be a kit i just collect parts here and there for the jobs i do in the U.S u could go straight to impco for the bits thay make good gear at prety good prices and are very reliable easy 90% of cars here use impco the epa thing sounds dodgy too cause lpg is much better for the enviroment its got me buggerd

When I put in my last post, I was really pissed off. I had just hung up the phone with the guy and things looked bad.
I have had time to cool off since then and thought it over. It is likely that the guy just didn't want to mess with cobbling together a "one off" for me. John (tensandtwenties) suggests I call him back and say I have a Nissan forklift with an A-series and go from there. It does seem odd that the EPA would make it harder for us to use cleaner burning fuels, but the oil companies probably have them pretty well funded. But that's an issue for a conspiracy pinhead forum, not a 1200 club! I don't think I'm going to give up 100% yet, since the idea really does intrigue me. You can view topic.
