the old 60L gearbox has a different sized transmission mount foot, there is about 15mm difference between the two...(60A and 60L) I'm surprised, because it looks like they have the mounts in the same place: Attach file: 60A_vs_60L_13616.jpg (41.63 KB)![]()

Its the vertical distance thats different,, the foot is about 15mm longer down from the centreline than the 60L.
Because i had welded in mountings its caused me problems and i had to cut it all out and make a new mounting. Also, as my car is a frogeye sprite, the gearbox sits quite high inside the tunnel... This is what i ended up making (in blue)....it bolts on now, making future engine/box removal much easier... on top of the blue bracket is a standard B310 gearbox mount, They had one in stock at my local motorfactors....

Understood. I was just reading up on that. Pitroad says the difference is 20mm. I like your method (1-piece crossmember/bracket).

Order the bearing as a generic (non-automotive) from a bearing supply company. Which bearing is it?

The bearings, when cleaned and inspected with magnifying glass, will have a bearing number stamped on them.

I have the bearing numbers for the ball bearings, but not the needle rollers.
Theyre just standard bearings, just tell the number to any bearing shop and they will match them with whatever brand is most available. Mine came from NSK. When i get in the garage tomorrow i'll make a note and let you know.

pic of the bearings i bought for the gearbox rebuild attached.
There are needle rollers also but i couldnt find any info on those. The ZZ in the part number means 'shielded' i.e they have a metal, semi seal fitted to them, you can remove this with a small screwdriver as its not required. I got them with the shield just because thats what was available. Attach file: Gearbox 60A bearings.jpg (94.34 KB)![]() You can view topic.
