Buy a full one off ebay? There are a fair few for sale one there, ranging from cheap to expensive.

Remember to get the correct ignition coil and spark plugs for the new set up :)
The spark plug gap spec will also have to change :)
E15 pulsar is a straight fit.

Sure Dave.

Try search 'Datsun A12 Distributor'

And, voila first, second and third on the search results.

Can you be more specific? I have an electronic dizzy fitted but I have not upgraded the coil or spark plugs. I did not know you need to.

Mine is just the points replacement unit....not the whole dizzy.

You don't need to.

Choices:
* Use stock 1200 coil with stock ballast resistor
or
* Fit EI coil and remove ballast resistor

The latter will make it a high-energy system, for better burning, less missfire. Then you can change the spark plugs to .13 mm type for the ultimate system.

datsunbeginner, it is not a must but it will run better.
Only need to change those thing if you want it to run optimum.
And the obvious reason that you are going to get feed back on your radio if you use plugs without the resistor.
Standard coil is a 9V one and EI is 12V and an EI coil has a different charge time.
Charge time is like dwell angle but you do not have points any more.
Every coil has different inductance and resistance and this gives different spark characteristics.
There is a lot of science behind ignition :(
