Fully sick cause I was able to drop it another 30 mm and no rubbing , shaved the bump stops so I still get 50mm of travel with no rubbing
Paint match is not great so the whole side will have be redone once the front guards are flared.

Looks great. Could we get a couple more shots of the flares with the whole car in it for context? ...or just so I can have a good drool ;)

Looks good. I'd like more of a write up on how you did it.

L18_b110 - Well spotted on the tyres - have a mate who pulls out some great stuff out of hibernation.
Flatto - Will get the front wheels done before I do some full car shots - end of the week
unfamilia - I'm not good at explaining details but if theres any thing specific about the process ?

Cheers For the comments

Great job that looks really really neat and nearly stock looking (mid 80s)

My brother in law has an old boxy charade with really nice original flares that I am thinking of grinding off to suit cause I will be going 13x8 starsharks. But it is nice to see it done this way and gives me a second option if it's too hard with charade ones.

great stuff thumbs up =)

What are your superlites and tyre sizes?

I'm struggling to find rubber for mine that's not chunky as. I managed to get 175/60 on 13s which I think I'll be happy with.

Rear Miniltes are 13 x 7 (-ve 3 offset ) with 205 x 70 tyres - Flares made specifically to suit this combo
Front Minilites are 13 x 6 ( ??? offset - I think +pos 24 I'll check) with 175 x70 tyres. This will require flares as well cause it going too be Looow.

Demacoz gave me a set of old front guards to try a slightly different method for the fronts seeing they are only single skin.
Started the same by cutting the guard just above the first 15mm crease line , then used some 3mm plate cut to the profile of the next 50mm crease. Bent it to match the curve of the guard , then clamped it on the outside. Then went to town with the panel hammer and got it close in just 20min.
It worked so well I'm going to get 2 pieces made (mirror image) of the whole guard , tapering it out to 20mm at the top of the guard so to not impede on the guards horizontal crease.
When its out to the required width I'll then weld it the fill piece, fibre fill my lack of skill and presto!

Now to get some wider front Minilites to fill'em up
