Mmmm, where do I start....Finally got it to run properly at about 1am this morning with the help from a few guys from on here! too late to run it for long.

Had an hour this morn before Leigh and I went to Ziggys for the BBQ lunch in Melb, so roughly tuned it to get a figure. The 800cc injector ran out of duty cycle, it made about 70-80Kw but didn't get a log of it.

We fitted the larger injector with about 10 mins before we had to leave. I was loading it up a bit to check mixtures at the top end. mixtures and injector duty cycle were much better but in our haste had forgotten to hook up the boost line to the waste gate... Result was about 27Psi boost and a lifted head/damaged gasket. No HP figures unfortunately.

Ive just replaced the gasket and unblocked a few water passages in the head and block. I'll tune it properly tomorrow and post the results at 12Psi and 15Psi.

What did you lap it with? Have you got a flat stone, or a lapping plate, dor lap them together or know another trick?

I used a diamond lapping plate. It's a bit dodgy using it on an assembled engine, but for this $56. eBay engine I'm not too fussed!

Flatness is the main concern, the gasket should fill all the surface flaws. I've learned a hell of a lot about dynamic sealing surfaces in the last year! I've been developing a rotary valve at work all that time, so much more to it than meets the eye.

Be interested to see how it goes since this is the level of tooling I have in my workshop for now. I'm sure it'll be fine.

27psi! well old HG did its job!! 70-80kws roughly tuned
maybe more than my stab at 76kws tuned & closer to 80-82?
I feel as edgy as this frog waiting for a bus

what box to contain the new found force?

LambD- Dunstans personal dream was to use 2 x L4s
for his rotary valve engine since he unhappy the hoeden 6 limitations http://www.thegreymotor.com/2014/08/dunston-rotary-valve-head.html
Even reminds me of Sykines / Lags first offering of an A inj mani

It's not an automotive rotary valve, something that goes in a medical instrument since that's what I do, cancer diagnostic machines. For a little while longer anyway.

Edit: sorry to stray off topic.

Rowland does not list an EFI manifold

The photo D showed is a van Vuuren EFI manifold
