If there's enough interest in manifolds I may have some time coming up where I can look at modelling it up and getting some quotes on different manufacturing methods. I have a few ideas.

OK all, I'm interested!
I have an idea based on all this. I have a manifold like the picture, and have fabricated a 'Plenum' out of steel which bolts on in place of the weber. If I bolt a throttle body onto that, and put 2 injectors into the manifold pointing at the head (as a side note I just found you can get screw in or weld in injector bosses online in steel or alloy. Who knew!). I guess I could do 4 but I am trying to keep this a little basic. Turbo manifold bolted on, plumbed to throttle body, 2 injectors and what I think would be a better than standard manifold we should be good. Now, is it possible to run a standard electronic distributor if the injectors are just firing a pulse? Would it be able to trigger off the standard dizzy or does it need no 1? I was in the process of buying a 1500 to do a bit of work to, but after following this I think the 1200 is staying, with a little help from forced induction. Thoughts? JD

PM set RC. JD, the Microsquirt should trigger off the electronic dissy. Maybe checkout the Microsquirt manual to be sure.
It wont need to know where number one cyl is if you use the rotor button and distributor cap.

MicroSquirt (MegaSquirt) can trigger off the standard point distributor or an electronic distributor. If doesn't need to know the cam position unless doing four injector sequentially. It can do four injectors with the standard point distributor in batch mode. Which isn't as good for emissions as sequential

I took the head off today to replace the damaged gasket. I think it blew because I didn't re-tension it! The bolts felt like they had very little tension on them when I backed them off. That will teach me for being slack!
Checked the head for hardness and straightness before fitting the double springs. I was tempted to give the ports a clean up, but I'm still keen to see if it will crack 200Hp with a standard A12 head(with double springs) so left them alone. I'll try to fire it up again tomorrow and post results.

You were spot on Harry, The cam has made very little difference when using the standard inlet manifold and head.
Best was 144KW at 26.5Psi (282Kpa) The power with the cam has been moved up about 1000Rpm and still makes 142Kw at 7900. But comes on way too late for the street. It might be alright with the smaller R32 turbo. Something else for me to try I suppose...

Sikyne I know you probably have a business to run and other projects but I am missing the updates on this. I am guessing its not just me either. Any further updates?
