Thanks for the lend of the sacrificial car Lags!

To answer a few Q's..

It's going to use a MS1 ECU at this stage.
It will be using a 4 tooth trigger in the distributor and no crank trigger.
It will probably be a 4-6 week project.

This can be the "discussion thread" and I'll do another titled "Build thread" hopefully without any comments to keep it easy for others to follow.

sounds great!

will it run a 13? (this thread reminds me of "13 seconds for $1300")

except this one is more believable

if you can get it done for $1200 i will be impressed, the additional labor required to keep costs down is going to mean this is still a mammoth task for the average car builder though

It's going to be as simple as I can make it. With the least amount of work for each stage. Also only buying what is absolutely necessary.
Its about the best I can do.

For example, the Inlet manifold should take less than 2 hours to make. Including, making fuel rail, injector bosses, press reg mount and throttle body/cable. It will cost less than $150 inc new inj.

A 13?....Probably not

So you doing a single intake TB? I was going ITB's but will hold off until I see how this goes.

Great thread and loved your Coupe thread too.

I have gathered so far for my setup and hope to stay along your guide.

250cc injectors-$50.00
TPS-$10.00
CAS-$80.00

OK... I'll try to do a bit of a build blog so others can copy if they want.

I'll start a new thread without comments or questions to keep it clean! Any Questions or suggestions, please post them here. I can edit the build thread as required.

Just remember this is a budget build to minimizes outlay and time involved to get a reasonable result...Hopefully!

Step One: building the EFI manifold

You will need:
-Throttle body from Hyundai Exel X3 SOC engine
-Standard A12 inlet manifold and Carb
-Fuel pressure regulator from (97 Toyota Corolla or 97 Mitubishi lancer)
-3-5 mm Ally plate to make adaptor.
-1 large fuel injector(1000cc for petrol or 1300+cc for E85)

Put a link of discussion thread in the build thread simon If possible.
Nice and cheap easy single point set up.
Don't ea falcons have single point that matches a 32/36 manifold adaptor too from memory?

With a stock carby filter top no one would know it's efi almost. I like a lot
