Ok i think i follow that..
will have a look tomorrow
im sure the alternator bottom bracket was like a U and it dropped in with bolt each end holding it in place and be cast iron

Instead of moving the alternator, look at whether the pulley is all the way back. Maybe it needs a shallower spacer.

To move the alternator
* Use a washer behind the upper (adjusting) bracket
* Slot the bolt holes in the lower bracket, but you might not be able to if it is cast iron. In that case hacksaw or grind a bit off the front off the bracket (where the alternator attaches) and use a washer to take up the slack on the back.

hmm thats going to be tricky as the alternator drops into the mounting bracket
the belt looks twisted but is tight and drifts that way when running
any sugestions how to do the alternator?

alternator is sitting too far forward, space it back till it lines up with crank pulley

Got it fitted.. i think i need a spacer or something on the crank pulley to line it up better
at the moment it wants to slip off the crank pulley..yes belt is tight but its not all straight.
what have people done in the past fitting these kits

Got ya.. all makes sence now.
was mis informed by someone
cool so just have to the alternator pulley and be good to go
