If I have a pair of rims at -2 do I add a 12mm spacer to make them +10, or is it that I add 12mm spacers to make a +10 into a -2.
(obviously I have a set at +10, and a set at -2, and I want to even the buggers out)

I always thought it was adding a spacer to the negative would make it a possitive, but yesterday someone said the opposite, and now I am doubting that my memory on how it works is faulty.

Adding spacers adds negatively. For example with a -2 rim and a 12mm spacer that's -2 -12 = -14. There is no way to bring a negative offset wheel to positive offset.

Australia NCOP considers spacers a safety issue.

Negative Offset shifts the wheel outwards, just like spacers do

So would it better to run the positive or neg on the front then?

Looks best to me to put the -2 on the rear, and the +10 on the front. Factory offset is +30.
